We need to inmplement teaching/learning strategies
in every dicipline in order to develop each student's
literacy potential for processing a variety of text forms.

David Booth is a renowned educator and professor emeritus in the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Department at OISE/UT. As a classroom teacher, consultant, speaker, and writer he has delighted thousands with his energy, enthusiasm, and commitment. He is well known as an international speaker, having worked with teachers and administrators throughout Canada, the United States, Great Britain, Australia, and Asia. He is the author of dozens of books for teachers, educators, and parents such as Even Hockey Players Read and The Literacy Principal, and is an award-winning writer of picture books for children.

Consider attending VAPSI (Victoria Advanced Placement Summer Institute) this summer! It's a FABULOUS week for mind, body and soul!

The Victoria Advanced Placement Summer Institute is a College-Board approved organization that works with teachers and administrators involved in Advanced Placement programs. With training in over 16 different courses, ranging from Studio Art to Calculus, VAPSI offers educators valuable training while they enjoy the city of Victoria, a gorgeous harbour capital on British Columbia's Vancouver Island.

All classes are conducted on the campus of St. Michaels University School, an independent school with quality facilities, and only fifteen minutes from downtown Victoria. With an experienced and engaging faculty, a serene setting and exemplary courses, VAPSI is an ideal place for educators to spend a few days of their summers.

All courses run July 5th - 9th, 2010, so register early!
