Pandora Poetry Contest

Do you have any talented poets in your classroom?
Your students could get their poem(s) published and
win a gift certificate prize!

The annual Pandora Poetry Contest is open to all students from Kindergarten to Senior 4. Sponsored by the Manitoba Association of Teachers of English, the contest awards book gift certificates in the following denominations: $60 for 1st place, $40 for 2nd pace, and $30 for 3rd place. Prizes will be given in six grade-level categories:

• Grades K – 2
• Grades 3 & 4
• Grades 5 & 6
• Grades 7 & 8
• Grades 9 & 10
• Grades 11 & 12

The deadline to enter is March 10, 2011 and for exact submission guidelines please see the attached document. Winners will be notified in June by letter to sponsoring teachers at their school addresses. Winning poems will be published with the 2009-2010 issues of Classmate, the journal of the Manitoba Association of Teachers of English.

Winners will also receive a copy of the issue in which their poems appear!
